Our flu vaccination programme kicks off on Saturday 7th October at Belmont Surgery. Patients living in or around Ticehurst will have the opportunity to get their flu jab at our second flu clinic on Saturday 14th October at Ticehurst Surgery. Further clinic dates will be announced shortly.
We are also pleased to confirm that we will be vaccinating our most vulnerable patients – care home and housebound patients – in early October.
In addition to our GPs and Nursing team, our two Clinical Pharmacists, Nigel Howard and Jonathan Seggie, will also be vaccinating patients this year.
Registered patients in the following groups will be eligible to book their flu vaccination with us:
- Those aged 65 years and over
- Those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
- Pregnant women
- Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- Frontline health and social care workers
We will initially be sending invitations out to all eligible patients for whom we have a mobile phone number. Those patients with a smart phone will be able to follow the link to book their vaccination appointment. We will then be contacting patients for whom we do not have a mobile phone number. However, please spread the word to any eligible family or friends who are registered with us!
Registered patients are also able to book their vaccination appointment in the following ways:
- Via the NHS app or by logging into their NHS Account
- Online via our website using Patient Access
- By visiting either Belmont or Ticehurst surgery and speaking to one of our reception team
- By phoning 01892 577733 Monday-Thursday from 9:00-12:00.
Can we please request that patients only phone the surgery if they are unable to book an appointment using any of the other methods listed above. A large number of calls will put a strain on our phone lines and prevent patients with medical issues from getting through to our reception team.
When booking your appointment online, please select the most appropriate appointment for your age group, remembering that if you are 65 on or before 31st March 2024 you need to book into an Over 65yrs slot.
