We are aware that there have been mixed messages regarding the future of Wadhurst Medical Group’s (WMG) Ticehurst surgery. We would like to apologise for any confusion and concern this may have caused for patients.
We want to reassure patients and the community that Wadhurst Medical Group (WMG) will continue to provide GP services at the Ticehurst site (Newington Court), as the current lease is in place until 2027.
Southern Housing (the landlord) has confirmed redevelopment plans for the site and for this reason we do need to identify a longer-term home for the practice. However, services will continue at Newington Court until a suitable new location has been identified, approved, and is ready to operate so that care to patients can continue.
Sussex Primary Care, who run WMG, is actively working to secure a new site for the practice within Ticehurst. We are grateful for the suggestions and support that have been offered by the parish council and the local community.
We will ensure patients and the community are updated as plans develop, however hope this clarifies the position and offers reassurance that GP services will continue to be delivered at Newington Court in the meantime.
